The Society cares more about Mark Sanderson's stick of Judah than the elephant in the room
by truthseeker ini just watched the segment of mark anderson's, gb member, talking at the annual general meeting.. they care more about obscure prophecies than the child abuse crisis in the organization.. he talks about the two and ten tribe kingdoms of israel, the stick of joseph and stick of judah, and likens it to the anointed and great crowd.. what a bunch of craziness!.
this is the kind of crap spiritual food the drones get..

And then they will have new light so what he said will be obsolete, it is anyway. Yes they fail to address the real issues, things that are actually happening. -

Daniel Craig doesn't do it for me either. Wrong look, wrong everything. Not suave.
JB needs to be a guy. George Clooney would be good but is not English. I would love to see Timothy Dalton or Pierce Brosnan back.

What is your purpose or what do you wish to accomplish while a member of this board?
by Tenacious inwhen i joined this forum i was seeking more people who felt the same way i did in terms of seeing the jehovah's witness organization for what it truly was; a false prophet.. once i found like-minded members i slowly started to open up and participate more in trying to help others that were also exiting mentally and physically.
today, i offer support to anyone who desires it regardless of what they believe or not believe.. so what is your purpose on this board?.
support?

Awake at last
I thought I was the only one who thought the way I did and was miserable in the org. Since joining this site and others, I now know there is a whole lot of people feeling the way I do and they are from all over the world. Learning of the true history of the org from Russell onwards has been an eye opener as well as the picking apart of bible teachings. -

Question - thoughts on explaining your fading to teachers?
by elderINewton inweird/odd question, but with our family fading, and our daughter in school how or should one approach teachers with this?
our child is a little too young to understand why we are fading, but it proves challenging in school as they have been, well brainwashed, to say i shouldn't do that etc... .
i don't like explaining anything to teachers about the fade, etc.

Awake at last
At the beginning of this year, I spoke to the acting principal at my daughter's school. She was supportive and said she would have JW removed on the enrolment as her religion.
My daughter has mental problems so I explained a few things that are happening at home such as the changes we are making in our lives and beliefs and the difficulties of having believed for so many years, we are in our 50's and I am born in. She understood that we are telling our daughter one thing and then changing and it is a confusing time on top of everything else. I also mentioned about still supporting the other witness children in the school as they do not get to choose their religion and that people wake up in their own time and some never do. She was quite interested in our reasons and what we were doing and said that to come to her any time.
Our daughter is going to high school next year and the witnesses in our area are mostly home schooling for high school. I like the idea of putting C of C in the school library.

Annulment of baptism for a minor?
by Tornintwo ini've seen references to baptism annulment on a few websites, does anyone know if there has ever been a successful annulment of a baptism?.
eg.
a minor claims they didn't understand a key wtbts teaching prior to baptism, is there any realistic chance of annulment?

Awake at last
The only case I ever knew of was in the 1980's a woman studied who had had a mental breakdown. One elder did not want her baptised but was overridden by the others. A while later she had a blood transfusion and had no idea of having done anything wrong. The kind elder who originally discouraged the baptism announced an annulment for her. She never returned to the meetings. -
